HIMALAYAN GARDEN & SCULPTURE PARK – GREWELTHORPE, RIPON

The Himalayan Garden & Sculpture Park was donated to a charitable trust – The Hutts Foundation, by Peter and Caroline Roberts.

The purpose to secure the future of the park and enable people to be able to enjoy the wonderful walks, scenery, rare plants, and sculptures.

After undertaking a year of moth & butterfly surveying, Head Gardener Stephen Ward, and his dedicated team of talented gardeners, have worked alongside the Yorkshire Branch of Butterfly Conservation to establish key areas
within the grounds, for butterfly & moth preservation. With new woodland, grassland and flower bed areas being created.

Butterfly & moth surveys will continue so as to observe the success of the work undertaken and the key garden areas will be developed upon from there.

Stephen believes that in doing this it not only enhances an already amazing visitors experience, but the success of these beautiful and fascinating creature is an indicator to the health of the garden as a whole.
